We’ve developed the Master Lockit together with Ambient Recording. It perfectly combines sophisticated on-set metadata management with highly accurate timecode technology.
Use case for Script Supervisors
// Display clip metadata inside the LockitSCRIPT app
When the LockitScript app is used stand-alone, clip symbols are manually created by the user within the LockitScript app for each individual camera. When using a Master Lockit, clip symbols containing crucial metadata from the camera are automatically created and displayed within the app.
How-To:
- Plug the Master Lockit to the camera via Ethernet
- Connect to the Master Lockit WiFi with your iPad
- Enter the MasterLockit Web View in a browser (http://10.0.0.1 or http://masterlockit.local), or directly inside the LockitScript App and follow instructions to establish connection to the camera
- Activate the “Clip Importer” in the LockitScript Preset Tab
- Hit the “Record”-Button on the camera and see a clip symbol containing metadata information appearing in your app

- Start all Lockit devices and make sure they are all in the same ACN channel
- Connect to the Master Lockit WiFi with your iPad
- Enter the MasterLockit Web View in a browser (http://10.0.0.1 or http://masterlockit.local) or directly inside the TonMeister App
- That’s it. You can manage your Lockits in the “Timecode” tab

Use case for DITs
// Download Content Metadata of Every Single Clip
With the LockitScript app, script supervisors note content information for every single clip. The Master Lockit Web Interface enables DITs to download important clip-based content information as e.g an ALE-File for direct import into your pregrading software.
How-To:
- Tell a script supervisor to work with the LockitScript app and a Master Lockit on set
- Connect to the Master Lockit WiFi with your laptop
- Enter the Master Lockit Web View in a browser (http://10.0.0.1 or http://masterlockit.local)
- Go to Tab “Metadata Export” and select the information and format you need

Master Lockit
Master Lockit (ACN-ML)
The Ambient Master Lockit (ACN-ML) is the LockitNetwork’s on-set metadata hub!
The Master Lockit is a time-code generator/ transceiver and on-set server with wifi router. It not only collects critical metadata when connected to popular cameras via Ethernet, but also acts as the central, on-set metadata hub. In essence, the Master Lockit collects and distributes technical and content metadata between several on-set “Satellite” devices, including Tiny Lockit, Lockit Slate and our Apps – to establish a digitally connected movie set for better communication and accurate end-of-day reports.

Tiny Lockit
Tiny Lockit (ACN-TL)
The Ambient Tiny Lockit is a rock-solid, highly-accurate, temperature-compensating time code generator.
Since firmware update 3.34 (Download it here), the Tiny Lockit also is a “Satellite” within the LockitNetwork hardware system. When connected to a camera via LANC, the Tiny Lockit will be the perfect complement to the system by sending frame-accurate start/stop metadata to the Master Lockit.
Also you can remotely edit, jam and monitor crucial TC functions via the Master Lockit Web Interface.

Lockit Slate

The Ambient Lockit Slate is a modular time code slate and display. As all Ambient Products, it provides a rock-solid, highly-accurate, temperature-compensated time code generator.
Elegant and modern, this on-set tool is a LockitNetwork “Satellite” since firmware update 3.34 (download it here) and will send TC information to the Master Lockit.

Beetle
Beetle (ACN-BT)
The Bluetooth Dongle ACN-BT “Beetle” integrates production audio recorders into the LockitNetwork system. Designed as a power-efficient hub between sound recorders and iPads*, it enables wireless, remote control functionality via Bluetooth 4.0LE technology when using the TonMeister app.
Thanks to the option of interconnecting with various devices via interchangeable cable connection, the unit is well prepared for a growing number of supported audio recorders.
