As you already know, we always include a Streaming Box into our workflow every time a customer wishes low res proxies and video replay on set – in addition to our metadata service. At the moment we usually use the CUBE from Teradek. On the IBC fair in Amsterdam some weeks ago, we first met a possible alternative: Vitec.

Vitec sent us their new Box “FS-H70” for a testing phase. Its special feature: it records really timecode-accurate proxy files. That opens up a lot of new possibilities and means we possibly made a huge step further towards our vision of on-the-fly proxy recording with the correct timecode, directly linked with the content metadata by easySCOTT.

We will test the Box intensively. As usual, we’ll keep you informed on the results of our first examinations.
