This week is not about metadata, but about remembering American camera assistant Sarah Jones who died in a train accident during a shooting for the movie “Midnight Rider” on February 20.
Briefly after the tragic incident, several camera assistants and other filmmakers built the Facebook page “Slates for Sarah”. In the last couple of days many pictures of film sets from allover the world were posted showing the clapping of “RIP-slates” for Sarah Jones.
It’s a wonderful sign of the solidarity within film industry, an appreciation of the less visible crew members and first and foremost a memorial for on-set safety.
